Snake In A Lake?
By Bud "The Man" Shurwalter; 11/13/06

It all started when a fan e-mailed the NCW website in regards to the whereabouts of former NCW New England Champion
"Hotstuff" Paul Hudson. Hudson hasn't been seen in NCW since losing a rematch against Doug Summers back
at NCW Silence the Violence V over a year ago, and one fan wanted desperately to know why.
Upon further investigation it appears that Hudson has involved himself into the dangerous world of hip hop, always one of his favorite hobbies, dating back to his NCW debut as the leader of the boy band 69 Degrees back in 2002. Since his disappearance into the mean streets of Portland, Maine the fans have been asking, no DEMANDING to see P Haz return to the ring and showcase his talents in and out of the ring.
Could he make a comeback?
Prepared For Action
By Bud "The Man" Shurwalter; 11/11/06
It was a night of uncertainty for the NCW crew as they entered the Field House on the campus of Pomfret Preparatory for a night of wrestling action soley for the students and alumni of the boarding school. Only a week earlier the scheduled NCW Heavyweight Championship Tournament was postponed due to shady circumstances beyond anyones control, and the majority of NCW's core locker room would not be in attendance for the evenings festivities. By the end of the night it was clear that all the speculation and worry was for nothing as the wrestlers of NCW put on an amazing display for the Pomfret population, sending a message to everyone that NCW isn't quite finished with business.
The night started off when ring announcer Tommy D welcomed Headmaster Art Hastings into the ring to welcome his students to the show, only to be interrupted by NCW's egocentric duo of JC Marxxx and Triplelicious. After endearing themselves to the crowd JC decided to take the gloves off and teach the Headmaster a life lesson of his own, only to find Pomfret's Davey Loomis join the action, taking out JC's backup in Triplelicious. Infuriated, Marxxx made the challenge to face off in tag team action against Team Pomfret. With a cocky smirk, Loomis accepted the challenge.
Kicking things off Nocturne and Osirus continued their battle with one another, going back and forth never letting up to give the other an advantage. In the end Nocturne was able to telegraph Osirus' "Final Flash", reversing it into his own Nocturnal Driver finishing him off with his swanton bomb for the win.
"Punisher" Don Vega made his NCW debut in Pomfret, facing off against the big man of The Original Kings Of Old School, "Textbook" Dean Porteau. Despite the lack of TOKOOS muscle Porteau never backed down from Vega, standing toe to toe against "The Punisher" in this big man brawl. The veteran Vega was able to outlast Porteau, taking out the former Beast with an inverted DDT off the top rope.
NCW original "The Ladies Man" MTE made his way out to ringside, checking in to see if there were any chicks of the legal age in Pomfret Prep. After nearly being mauled by a couple of females in the crowd, MTE wanted to let everyone know just how stupid they were. After an attempt at playing the anthem of Pomfret's rival school, "The Ladies Man" demanded his opponent, Doug "The Idiot" Summers make his way out. Summers continues his push towards singles glory, as the former New England Champion whaled on the younger Tootsie, knotting him up with some vicious kicks to his thigh and legs. Following a brutal shining wizard, Summers cinched in an inverted cloverleaf forcing MTE to tap out.

The war between Tim Kilgore and Rob Impact reached a new level of violence, as the two collided in a Stretcher Match, with Impact looking for revenge against Kilgore for trying to end his career back in August at the Dedham VFW. Both men attempted to take the other out early in the match, but as time went on things began to escalate, especially once Kilgore brought in the steel chair to even the odds against the resilient Impact. After stretchers, chairs, and cructhes, it was a murderous inverted pedigree onto a second chair that did Impact in, allowing Kilgore to barely put his opponent onto the stretcher. Despite the loss, I feel that Impact will refuse to let his end without getting his measure of revenge on Kilgore.
The wild boy himself Evan "Hawkeye" Hunter was up next, looking to cement himself as one of NCW's best taking on the debuting Sid Momentum in singles action. The bruising yet agile Momentum hit everything but the kitchen sink, but Hunter continued to fight back. Following a missed 450 splash, "Hawkeye" was quick to capitalize hitting his "Cross Hairs" for the duke.
Cenobite enlisted the help of his macabre gang of Kreeper, Midget Kreeper, and the lustful Taeler in Pomfret in an effort to win the NCW Tag Team Championship from the ultra popular Generation SLAM. Fans were treated to a good old fashioned tag team classic, with The Macabre falling apart after Cenobite inadvertantely knocked out his valet with a brutal clothesline. After a superb superkick from Thornhill all it took was a senton/frogsplash combo to give Generation SLAM another successful title defense.
In a sight to be seen, manager JC Marxxx strutted out in full wrestling gear with partner Triplelicious for their tag team war against Davey Loomis and his Pomfret Headmaster. After Loomis showed Marxxx what it was like to be a wrestler, JC immediately demanded he tag into Hastings to get a piece of him. After awkwardly being outplayed by the big cheese, JC tagged in Trip who did his best to outwrestle the amateur standout. After a beautiful moonsault by Loomis, Trip tagged out to his partner only to get clocked by the incoming Headmaster. As JC recovered Loomis cinched in his "Bannana Split", only to have Headmaster Hastings splash Marxxx while he was down for the 3 count!

The NCW Way
By "The Portuguese Sensation" Ruy Batello; 9/16/06
This is going to be a hard blog for me to write for many reasons. NCW has meant a lot to me over the years. Unless you are truly a part of NCW you will never understand what I am talking about. NCW is more to some people then just a place to wrestle. It is a collection of guys coming together to put on a product that means something to not only the people involved but the people in the crowd. Besides wrestling NCW has been a family, well at least for the "core" guys and even some others. I will not claim to have been in a ton of different locker rooms. I know there are a bunch of people that have been in WAY more, but I don't know what it is about a NCW locker room that brings a smile to me face. I have never felt better about a group of people then my time in NCW. There is just something about it that makes me smile. People just seem to act different, they care in ways that they might not in other locker rooms. That is what makes NCW different for me at least. I have seen guys who out during a NCW show and put forth more effort in a match then they do all year long in other promotions. To me NCW is one of the best promotions around for that family feel it has to it. I am not just talking about a locker room where everyone knows each other and where no one is a dick to anyone else. I am talking a locker room where you feel like if you have a shitty day you could pull the most random of people off to the side and talk to them and they would listen. The feeling for NCW that I have is shared by a few other people. The people that really understand NCW fight for it more then others. People have always asked us why keep NCW running, it doesn't make money, you guys have to do everything yours, why is it worth it? If losing money is cool then call us Miles Davis! Most people have agreed that even if they don't work they want to come down to a NCW show just to hang out. It is so hard to explain fully what NCW has meant to me over the years.
This is hard for me because I know the more I talk about it that soon I will just be a spectator to all this in stead of a participant. Leaving NCW has been on of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I loved my time in NCW and wouldn't change a thing about it. Yesterday NCW had a show and for the first time in over 7 years Ruy Batello was not on that show in some form or another. People have asked me if I am going to miss it… I already miss it. Wrestling has helped me through some very tough times in my life. I loved what I did in that ring. I loved every minute of, I would change any of the time I had in the ring or even the people I wrestled with. Sure there are a few tags gauntlets or matches with Richmond black I would like to take back and redo but hey they happened and it's to late now. Ruy Batello was an escape for me. To quote a man that has wrestled a lot more then and much better then me, "The best characters are those that have some of the persons actual personality treats." What does this mean? Well the reason stone cold was so good at being stone cold was that he was a beer drinking redneck. That is the reason why I laugh when I think about what I have said and done as Ruy Batello. I was a sensation with and without a vest, heartbreaker, one half of a wacky and zany duo, and I ended as a top baby face in a promotion. So many different things if you really think about it. The entire time using pretty much the same wrestling style, hell Tim Pittman told me he still loved the way I worked. I learned many years ago I didn't have to go out there and kill myself to win a crowd over, and most importantly I didn't have to run a marathon to get people behind me either. I went out there and was a people's guy. I was never that jacked good looking guy that people were use to seeing. Honestly I think that was one of the things people loved about me. I was a normal guy getting into the ring and trying to get the job done. I think people could respect that and they did. I love the fans for the reactions they have given me over the years. From the people in the Loomis to the people in the RI and MA areas that have seen me wrestle. I thank you for taking this fat out of shape kid from Rhode Island and making him something. I have been booed and cheered, sometimes in the same location, and I have loved every minute of it. Wrestling has given me memories that I will have for the rest of my life and for that I thank everyone who has ever been a part of that experience.
A Little off the subject of NCW I know but hey it's my blog and I can say what I want, "whatever I do what I want!" To the present and future of NCW I tip my hat and with a smile I say good luck to you all. So on the NCW front I am going to end this rambling with this, if you want an answer for that question I asked earlier, 'Why do you keep running NCW shows?' just ask someone why they skip a booking to go to NCW, or why they drive down when they know they are not going to get paid, or if they get hurt and then go to the next show, or they are booked on a regular basis. NCW is something more then wrestling, it's more then the people that work it, it is more then the people that watch the shows, NCW is something you can't put a price tag on, it is the experience… NCW forever!

The RUNDOWN Rundown
By TheNCWOnline; 9/10/06
It was a night where anything could happen and did when NCW made its auspicious return to the Loomis Arena for the RUNDOWN TV Tapings in Plainfield this past Saturday night.
NCW President Mike Paiva, grudingly stepped into the barn with his major announcement regarding the now vacant Heavyweight Championship. With the belt in hand, Paiva announced that Ruy left NCW because he was afraid of him, and he would never step back into NCW ever again. On October 28th in Dedham Paiva announced that there would be a single elimination tournament to determine a new Heavyweight Champion in NCW. The participants would be chosen at his discretion however, with the only names mentioned were former NCW Champions Tim Kilgore, Triplelicious, and "Revolution" Chris Venom, who lost the Title to Ruy at Collision Course in his Farewell Match.
With Triplelicious, Tim Kilgore, and "Revolution" Chris Venom (who had his buddy Bryce Andrews do the talking for him) all throwing their names into the hat to become the next NCW Heavyweight Champion, former New England Champion Doug Summers was compelled to interject, begging the trio to shut up. After JC Marxxx attempted to shut Doug up, the trio attacked Summers drawing out Tim Pittman, Jon Thornhill, & Amber to run off the egotistical triple threat. Accepting a Six Man Tag for later in the night, the Tag Team Champions and Doug Summers proved why they are The Uprising in NCW, winning the chaotic match with Summers finishing off Bryce with his "beautiful disaster" kneecrusher.

Rob Impact wrestled for the first time since injuring his ribs in Dedham back in August, squaring off against the brother of the man who injured him, "The Ladies Man" MTE. MTE of course had his brother Kilgore by his side, distracting Impact throughout the entire match. As Rob went to the top in an effort to finish off "The Ladies Man", he caught Tim out of the corner of his eye, and without hesitation launched himself from the top rope right onto the floor, looking to gain a measure of revenge against the egotistical Kilgore. Impact returned to the ring with Kilgore disabled at ringside, and nailed a picture perfect swanton to defeat Michael Tootsie Esquire.
The deranged Cenobite continues to adapt to wrestle without being able to wear his mask in the ring, with the referee literally forcing Cenobite to remove his mask, per the decision at Collision Course when Cenobite lost to The Wisconsin Badger in a Mask vs. Mask match. Cenobite made the young Mikey Marvelous pay for The Badger's deed, with Cenobite getting a vicious win over Marvelous.
In one of the most out of control matches in NCW history, NCW held a New England Title #1 Contenders Battle Royal to determine a #1 Contender at MaximuM Carnage. Derik Destiny's handpicked winner was his TOKOOS partner "Textbook" Dean Porteau, who hadn't stepped into the Loomis Arena since competing as Beast back in 2003, long before Destiny reformed the former monster. Porteau and Maniacal Mark helped control the Battle Royal, which included nearly the whole roster as well as a suprise run in by Frankie Arion! Coming down to Evan Hunter and the TOKOOS duo, Evan outsmarted Mark to eliminate him leaving only the big man in his way of becoming the #1 Contender. "Textbook" overshot his clothesline however, sending him flying out of the ring and making "Hawkeye" the winner and with the Loomis faithful an overwhelming fan favorite.
The main story of the evening revolved around hometown hero Davey Loomis challenging Derik Destiny for the NCW New England Championship, or as he called it, the Old School Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. Before the match could even get underway Derik ripped into the Loomis family, personally attacking Davey's younger sister Jillian, who was celebrating her 16th birthday in the crowd. The older brother quickly stood up for his sister, cutting off Destiny from further antagonizing. Destiny once again promoted his "Old School Rules", and with his Original Kings Of Old School followers by his side, Destiny did his best to slow down the impressive Loomis. After botched interference from Maniacal Mark and "Textbook" Dean Tatum, Loomis rolled up Destiny for the upset three count seemingly winning the NCW New England Title from the "Old School Messiah". Destiny immediately stormed out of the Loomis Arena in search of President Mike Paiva, complaining about Davey breaking one of his "Old School Rules". President Paiva, who had already left the building due to his disdain for the Loomis Arena, has promised to issue a statement regarding the New England Title this weekend. Back inside Davey celebrated by bringing his sister into the ring and singing happy birthday to her while Doug Summers and Generation SLAM arrived on the scene with a birthday cake for the youngest daughter of the Loomis clan.

A Barnfull Of Memories
By Bud "The Man" Shurwalter; 9/10/06
The Loomis Arena is based around memories. For years the small barn in Plainfield, Connecticut has hosted wrestling from all over, all with the backing and support of Larry Loomis and the Loomis family, giving fans the opportunity to come see a night of wrestling free of charge and enjoy the unique atmosphere that "the arena" provides.
The true hometown team of Loomis was and always will be ICCW (Independent Connecticut Championship Wrestling), a promotion that got its beginings from owner Bob Kane but was driven by The Showtime Posse of "Primetime" Randy J, "Main Event" Matt Burns, & "Crippler" Craig Steele. After its initial start ICCW eventually began funneling in talent from NCW, especially once JC Marxxx took over from his Uncle Bob around the end of 2000. ICCW had some classic feuds, including "Bad Boy" Billy Black battling the rookie Duff, Chris Venom & Triplelicious facing off with The Showtime Posse, "The Heartbreaker" Ruy Batello colliding with KL Murphy, and cousins JC Marxxx & MTE feuding over ownership of ICCW. ICCW at one time or another featured talent from all over the independent scene, including former ECW talent Spike Dudley, Little Guido, & Nova.
In the fall of 2000 ICCW allowed Northeast Championship Wrestling to run out of the Loomis Arena, which marked one of the first times a promotion other than ICCW ran out of the barn. One of NCW's most important events at the time, it featured a young New England Champion Tim Kilgore defending against Kid Krazy as well as Chris Venom's first Heavyweight Title win, defeating Triplelicious in a 2 out of 3 falls match after help from The Showtime Posse.
The end of ICCW came out of nowhere, during the summer of 2001 when they ran a show at the Plainfield Dog Track right down the road from the Loomis barn. While it is true that "ICCW" continued to run until the end of that year, it was never the same once the new creative force took over the fed with their own vision of the product.
From the ashes of ICCW came the formation of PWF Northeast, which at the time was a territory of PWF Universal out of Pennsylvania. PWF continued using many of the ICCW talent, although quickly incorporated a new brand of entertainment. After sporadically using the barn on and off for a year and a half, PWF decided to leave The Loomis Arena quietly leaving the building open for the first time in three years.
With no one running, Slamtech University stepped in providing a training ground for the up and comers to participate infront of an actual audience, creating Ringside Wrestling and bringing it to the forefront of the Loomis Arena. Ringside Wrestling provided an outlet for many wrestlers you see in NCW today, including Doug Summers, NCW Tag Team Champion Tim Pittman, Rob Impact, & Cenobite.
As NCW returned to the barn September 9th, officials mentioned that there was a good chance they'd be returning in the near future, giving back to a place that has helped NCW many times in the past. With that, it looks like The Loomis Arena will have plenty more memories to make down the road.
Collision Course Redux
By Bud "The Man" Shurwalter; 8/6/06
Northeast Championship Wrestling returned to its stomping grounds in Dedham for its heated summertime spectacular COLLISION COURSE, at the local VFW Post. The intimate atmosphere in the Jacob Jones Post gets fans an up close and personal with the action, always guaranteeing a fun time at NCW.
The show got kicked off with a bang when Bryce Andrews (who had "Pinnacle" Paul Lombardi & NCW Champion Chris Venom with him) took on the wildy popular Evan "Hawkeye" Hunter. Though Bryce normally has sometimes tag team partner Rocco Abruzzi with him, the former Italian Body Squad member had begun riding with a new Crew over the last few months and decided to show off his new friends to the Dedham faithful. Hunter and Andrews proved why they are two
of the best up and comers in the area, giving 110% in an effort to beat the other. After Venom and Lombardi were ejected from the Match due to attempted
interference, things were finally evened up although Andrews was quick to dominate, cutting off any momentum Hunter tried to build. In the end Andrews decided to show off one too many times, getting caught off the top with a haymaker, and positioning "Hawkeye" for his patented DDT and the victory.
Two new tag teams made their NCW debut at COLLISION COURSE, as The Alumni Club tore into the makeshift tandem of "Private" Johnny Primer & Angel. Kelly Valentine and Tony Taurus dominated over the smaller duo, systematically disecting Angel and Primer- Finally finishing things off with a double tandem roll of the dice. Generation SLAM be put on notice, these guys mean business.
"The Portuguese Sensation" Ruy Batello came out to rally the fans and thank them for all their support over the years. Batello talked about his career, and his four year Title reign which was cut short thanks to "Revolution" Chris Venom and the inaction of President Mike Paiva. Ruy called Paiva out, and demanded that his Farewell Match be against Venom, and for the NCW Heavyweight Title! Paiva called foul, stating that with Batello retiring he would leave with the Championship, but Ruy assured him that if he were to win the Title he would forfeit the belt to Paiva when it was all said and done. Paiva said no, giving Ruy the opportunity to land a vicious "Ruination" onto Paiva and mocking the dear President in the process.
Up next Tim Kilgore squared off against Rob Impact in what was supposed to be a traditional wrestling encounter, and quickly escalated from there. The always cocky, showboating former Heavyweight Champion was quick to try and one up the younger Impact, but was surprised to find him keeping up, pushing Kilgore to the limit. A visibly frustrated Kilgore tried his best to get under the skin of Impact, but Impact seemingly had Tim's number at every corner. After the hundreth roll out by Kilgore, Impact went for a plancha to the outside only to catch a vicious gut buster by Kilgore. The Match was immediately stopped by senior official Dan Tanaka, and Kilgore was told to return to the lockeroom. Impact was then taken to Norwood Caritas Hospital by some friends after being brought to the back, and was checked out for bruised ribs and potential broken ribs.

In a Mask vs. Mask battle, the unstoppable Wisconsin Badger took on the deranged Cenobite in what has to be the weirdest contest in NCW history. The Badger even through a dropkick! Nobody has been able to figure The Badger out yet, and Cenobite was unfortunately no different. After losing to the Badgersplash, Cenobite was unmasked a bloody mess apparently busted open hard from one of Badgers hardway punches. A psychotic Cenobite took his frustrations out on the referee, and stalked the ring before being sent back by officials.
Before intermission President Paiva returned to the ring (w/ neckbrace), and announced that he would be granting Ruy his Farewell Match against "Revolution" Chris Venom, but that it would be a No Disqualification Match.
NCW founder JC Marxxx then came out running down the Dedham crowd and properly introducing his "Impact Playa" of Zero Tolerance, Triplelicious, who was scheduled to take on the amateur standout Davey Loomis in singles action. Loomis gets better every match, and despite having some difficulties against the former four time NCW Champion he still impressed. After reversing out of Trip's DDT, Davey was able to cinch in his "bananna split" for the tap out much to JC's dismay.
In Derik Destiny's Old School Challenge, NCW New England Champion Doug Summers was forced to compete with not only Destiny, but also his TOKOOS lackeys "Textbook" Dean Porteau and Maniacal Mark who stood in Derik's corner for the match. Destiny helpfully explained the Old School rules, which included DQ's if anyone was thrown over the top rope, no top rope moves, and a 20 count to return to the ring. After a false start, Destiny also noted that Titles can change hands on disqualifications. After much stalling from "The Old School Messiah" the match finally was jumpstarted only to have the constant interference from The Original Kings Of Old School keep Doug down. After suffering the effects of a vicious trapezias nerve grip, the Dougie fan club rallied the New England Champion to his feet, but got stunned with a small package allowing Derik Destiny to win the NCW New England Title.

In the Six Person Intergender Tag Team Match the Tag Team Champions Generation SLAM and Amber went toe to toe with "The Ladies Man" MTE and his tag partners for the evening, The Maine State Posse. The MSP and MTE have both had their troubles with Gen SLAM over the last few months, and the bad blood continued into this match with some vicious shots from all six. In the end it was MTE's love for the ladies that did him in, as he was schoolgirled up for a pin by Amber, giving her team the win after Vegas & Chamberlin took Thornhill and Pittman out of the equation with salt to the eyes.

In the nights Main Event, Ruy Batello got his shot against "Revolution" Chris Venom for the NCW Title, and took the fight all over the Jacob Jones Post. Venom tried to use the help of his friends Lombardi and Andrews, but Batello was ready this time especially under the No DQ enviroment. After breaking out of "Ruination" Venom brought the NCW Title into things, and nailed a hard shot right to Ruy's face. After a close nearfall Ruy rebounded and hit a vicious DDT right onto the Championship, knocking Venom out and giving Ruy his 2nd Heavyweight Title. The NCW lockeroom then poured out to support "The Portuguese Sensation", however that celebration was short lived when President Paiva returned to take the NCW Title away from Batello. Batello did promise to return the belt, but on his own terms nailing Paiva with another super "Ruination" much to the delight of the crowd. Batello then celebrated one last time with the crowd, even embracing his former tag team partner MTE in the process. The Dedham crowd then gave Ruy a standing ovation as the lockeroom picked Ruy up for a celebratory lap around the ring.
It was an emotional end to a great night of NCW action, and one can only wonder where MaximuM Carnage will take us next.

NCW Interview: "The Ladies Man" MTE
By Bud "The Man" Shurwalter; 7/13/06

He goes by many names. Mr Tuesday Evening, "The Ladies Man", Michael Tootsie Esquire, "The 80's Man", but the one everyone seems to remember is MTE. The longest active competitor in NCW today MTE's most notable distinction is holding the record for the longest losing streak in NCW history. Infact, despite winning the NCW Television Title in a Battle Royal from
Sandy Starr (Yes, THAT Sandy Starr), it wasn't until JC Marxxx threw his cousin into a tag team with Zero Tolerance member
Ruy Batello as punishment that MTE's career really began. Together, the duo flourished and fed off each other's quirky sense
of humor much to JC's surprise. After winning two NCW Tag Team Titles (under suspicious circumstances) "the wacky and zany duo" caught on with the fans in a big way, forcing Marxxx to do what he always does and kick the team to the curb. With MTE
& Ruy Batello on the opposite side of the tracks, it left them open to one of the worst attacks in the promotions history when
Zero Tolerance handcuffed Batello to the ringpost, and beat MTE onto the disabled list.

It was during MTE's recovery that his estranged older brother Tim Kilgore (who took part in his attack) "reached out" to him, telling him all about the evils of "The Portuguese Sensation" Ruy Batello. With Kilgore manipulating MTE, MTE turned on his best friend at NCW Payback, ending their two and a half year friendship. During NCW's sabbatical Kilgore had awaken a monster, as MTE somehow morphed into "The Ladies Man", an egotistical punk who believed he was not only the smartest, but the sexiest. When NCW returned for its 2005 Reunion MTE started a war he was not ready for, when he shoved the former NCW superfan Tim Pittman down in the ring. Since then MTE is about 0-1000 against Pittman, but that hasn't stopped "The Ladies Man" from his mission to defeat his mortal enemy.
NCW: Thanks for sitting down with us and giving this exclusive interview.
MTE: No sweat. Gotta make time between wrestling and spreading it on with ladies.
NCW: You've done alot during your tenure here in NCW. You've been a leader [of The cWo, The Cheese World Order], a champion [former NCW TV Champion and a two time NCW Tag Team Champion], a referee [after his wrestling liscence expired MTE became a MT-RefereE], a wacky and zany tag team partner, a brother, and most recently a "Ladies Man". What are some of your most memorable moments in NCW. If you can remember any.
MTE: Well that's a tough question. I have a tough time remembering things. I'll say that I cherished my time winning tag championships with Ruy. And all the other times I have crushed Tim Pittman in physical contest.
NCW: Funny you should mention that, because according to my notes Tim Pittman has beat you decisively everytime you two have clashed.
MTE: What are you talking about? I was kicking and punching him. I even threw him through a plate glass window!
Thinking things over for a moment...
MTE: No. Wait. That was a movie. You're right.
NCW: You have one of the longest losing streaks in NCW history. Are you having flashbacks with your constant losses to Pittman?
MTE: HEY buddy, it's always been a fluke. Any so called "loss" has NEVER actually been my fault. Just because it seems I have a little trouble pinning this one guy doesn't mean anything. I am training extra hard to show everyone why this dude just belongs in my sea of adoring fans.
NCW: While it's true Pittman is a former "Superfan", He's come along way since then and is perhaps one half of the greatest tag team in NCW history.
MTE: Opinion. Speculation.
NCW: Speaking of great tag teams as well as opinions, what are your opinions on the upcoming retirement of your former tag team partner Ruy Batello?
MTE: You know... I've lost track of alot of things. Back a few years ago, my brother Tim was making a big deal about how Ruy is no good for me and I had to move myself away from him with force, and all that. But then I come to find out my brother and I butt heads more than me and Ruy ever did. But it's cool because he's my brother. So now when I think of Ruy, I feel scared that I might have burned a bridge that I'd like to cross again. And it does feel sad to lose a leader. It reminds me of when Optimus Prime died. And that makes me wonder... who is NCW's Rodimus Prime?
NCW: Luckily for NCW there is plenty of young talent looking to step up to the plate, which has always been sort of a trademark for NCW. New talent is always moving in, moving up, and moving onward.
MTE: Ooooh. So you're insinuating I'm old and on the down swing, huh? Well perhaps MTE stands for Maybe Temporarily Elderly. keyword being Temporary! I can keep up with any of these new guys. I would school someone like Davy Loomis any day of the week-- and twice on sundays! I'm not older. I'm on a more mature level of young.
NCW: Well you ARE the longest active competitor in NCW today, having been with the promotion since its inception, but with the uprising of talent including Doug Summers, Loomis, Jon Thornhill, and of course Tim Pittman, you have to admit that NCW is a great place to break into the business.
MTE: Tushy.
NCW: I believe it's touche.
MTE: Uhh, ok pal. Whatever. I studied English, not French. Well anyhow, yeah. I do actually feel like NCW definitely is the place to be. Even though some of these clowns rub me the wrong way (unlike me with the ladies), I still manage to have fun in & out of the ring.
NCW: Well I'm not even going to touch the subject of you "rubbing" the ladies, however it seems that this "Ladies Man" persona is something that's been inside you along time. You slapped the hell out of Sandy Starr to win the TV Title back in the day, and had a twisted relationship with one Gina Marie.
MTE: Thanks for reminding me. For the record I was faced with an ethical dilemma with S. Starr. And at the time, Gina Marie left me for my second cousin via bastardation, "Violent" Chad. So it's all good.
NCW: Any wrestling gals you'd want to shack up with today?
MTE: Honestly, it would be easier to talk about the ones I DON'T want to shack with.
NCW: Don't worry, I think Amanda Storm is retired.
MTE: Nice.
In deep thought once again...
MTE: BTW, that list holds exactly the same ones I don't want to shack up with that I'd meet at the mall. Fat and/or goth chics.
NCW: You've clearly had a healthy upbringing with that attitude. How would you describe your relationship with your brother Tim?
MTE: Tim.. Jeez.. Well, sometimes I try to show him the bachelor's life. But eventually we clash a little bit. This one time, he put me in like 50 headlocks. But whatever. He's my brother, so I love him unconditionally. I tell you though, when it comes to matches, we pull each other through. It reminds me of the Neil Diamond song, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." Look it up sometime.
NCW: Well you two did team up at Hostile Takeover to challenge your mortal enemy for the NCW Tag Team Titles, but you didn't exaclty pull eachother through on that one.
MTE: Maybe not in the win/loss column. But sometimes it's not about winning or losing. Maybe it's about how many groupies we meet up with later. Or, alternatively, maybe we emotionally pull each other through. Ever think about that, young man?
NCW: I guess I have alot of thinking to do.
MTE: Mmhm.
NCW: What are your plans for August 5th in Dedham? Something tells me you're not done with Timothy Pittman.
MTE: Don't you worry what my plans are for Collision Course. I always have an ace up my sleeve, unless of course I forget to wear sleeves which does happen on occasion. August 5th Tim Pittman will finally get his, and that's all you need to know.
NCW: Thanks for your time MTE, and goodluck because I'm sure you'll be needing it.
Ruy Batello Retires August 5th
By TheNCWOnline; 6/14/06
NCW President Mike Paiva confirmed the rumors, stating that Batello's contract had expired while he was the reigning Heavyweight Champion, and has opted to not re-sign a new deal. It seemed Ruy was well on his way to regaining the NCW Title from "Revolution" Chris Venom, who stole the Championship from him in a highly controversial Title Match back at Silence the Violence V. Reasons for Ruy's retirement are being kept private, although he has requested a farewell speech as well as a final Match of his choosing at NCW Collision Course, which President Paiva has surprisingly agreed too.
"Despite our recent differences, Ruy Batello was a valuable part of the NCW roster, and he will be sorely missed," Paiva smirked. "I think it's only fair that I give Ruy one last chance to shine. Maybe he can work The Wisconsin Badger or something. What's Duff up too these days?"
Derik Destiny's Old School Challenge
By TheNCWOnline; 6/14/06
Despite all the buzz surrounding the announcement of Ruy Batello's retirment, there is only one thing on the mind of Derik Destiny, and that is the NCW New England Championship. The Pioneer of The Original Kings Of Old School, Destiny was outraged that his Match against Doug Summers at NCW Hostile Takeover wasn't against "Prettyboy" Doug Somers, a former AWA World Tag Team Champion of the 80's.
"Who does this clown think he is? Trying to impersonate a legend like that. Here I was looking forward to a classic old school exhibition against an idol of mine Doug Somers, and out comes this joker in a skirt! I even told 'Textbook' to stay home because of it," Destiny stated. With his whole night thrown off course, Destiny ate a picture perfect "beautiful disaster" knee crusher from the Champion. In the aftermath, "The Old School Messiah" has thrown out an interesting challenge to Summers.
"I want a rematch, and I want it done on my terms. If Doug Summers calls himself a real Champion then he will face me August 5th in Dedham in what I call the Old School Challenge. Old School rules, with none of this new age bullcrap! Just good old fashioned wrestling!"
Once getting word of Destiny's challenge, Summers eagerly agreed to another showdown, stating he'd love to hit the "beautiful disaster" again on that big juicy melon of Destiny's.
NCW New England Champion Doug Summers defends the New England Title against Derik Destiny in an Old School Challenge August 5th at NCW Collision Course
A Hostile Look At Hostile Takeover
By The Southern Skelton; 4/25/06
Hey y'all, The Southern Skelton was thick in the middle of NCW's Hostile Takeover at that creepy Elk's Lodge in Groton CT. Rumor has it that the reason no one came was because they made everyone sign a weird ominous ledger before entering the building. Creepy! Let's get right to the action mon ami.
Match 1: New England Title Match - Doug Summers vs. Derik Destiny
Prior to the match Derik Destiny announced the match as a “Legends Match” because he confused NCW’s New England Champion Doug Summers with former AWA Tag Team Champion “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers. Destiny truly is old school, as anyone who has followed New England independent wrestling in the past few years is aware of NCW’s Doug Summers is and would not confuse him with a wrestler from the AWA out of the 1980s. Summers took the fight to Destiny, but Destiny took control by pulling Summer’s face into the turnbuckle. As the sole representative of “The Original Kings of Old School,” Destiny used every trick in his arsenal against Summers, including a second rope Legdrop and a first rope Back Rake. After about eight furious minutes of wrestling action Summers was able to pick up the win with “The Phillips Head Death Driver” (Kneedrop Driver) and retain the New England Title.
Match 2: Mike Marvelous vs. “The Rocket” Fred Curry, Jr. (with Chris Venom)
Fred Curry made his way to the ring with “Revolution” Chris Venom, and was very patient about stepping into the ring against the firey up-and-comer Mike Marvelous, who was making his NCW debut. After about 3 minutes of “Get in the ring!” chants by the crowd, Curry finally entered the ring to start the match. Curry dominated the match despite Marvelous displaying signs of greatness, and Curry continued to slide in and out of the ring at his leisure to discusss strategy with Venom which clearly frustrated Marvelous. Curry picked up the win with “The Rocket Launcher” (Missile Dropkick) in about 8 minutes.
Match 3: The Big Islanders vs. X-Rated
Both teams made their NCW debut, with the well traveled and experienced Big Islanders taking on the up-and-coming team of X-Rated. The Islanders weigh well over 400 pounds each, and X-Rated weighed in at a combined weight of about 550 pounds. The Islanders brutalized X-Rated, and despite the size difference X-Rated stayed competitive throughout the match. Despite a heartfelt effort, the Islanders were able to pick up the win in about 10 minutes with the Atlantis Driver (Over-the-Shoulder Piledriver).
A pre-recorded interview with NCW President Mike Paiva was aired where he announced that he will not be at Hostile Takeover, and that Chris Venom would not be defending the NCW Heavyweight Championship against Ruy Batello, despite Batello’s demand for a rematch after being screwed out of the title by Chris Venom at Silence The Violence V. The led to Venom issuing an open contract for a match with his Title on the line to anyone except Ruy Batello.
Match 4: NCW Heavyweight Championship Match – “Revolution” Chris Venom (with Fred Curry, Jr.) vs. Davey Loomis
Davey Loomis made his return to NCW after a leave of absence to focus on his amateur wrestling career to the delight of the crowd with a newfound look of confidence. Loomis hails from nearby Plainfield, CT, and is an accomplished amateur wrestler, but he stepped up in a major way taking on an established professional wrestler like Chris Venom. Venom was accompanied to the ring by Fred Curry Jr., who attacked Loomis on the outside of the ring on more than one occasion. Many would call this match the match of the night, and I’d be hard pressed to disagree as Loomis and Venom tore the house down! Loomis was very impressive and looked to be out-wrestling Venom, however Venom turned it around with underhanded tactics. After regaining brief control of the match Loomis took a big risk attempting a Moonsault, and Venom was able to get out of the way and connect with a Pinwheel Suplex for the win.
Post-match Curry and Venom assaulted Loomis until former champion Ruy Batello made the save, literally chasing Venom and Curry out of the building! After helping Loomis to his feet Batello was blindsided by Triplelicious, who knocked Batello out with the H-Cubed (Inverted Diamond Cutter). Triplelicious referred to himself as “Mr. NCW” and informed Batello that prior to the show he had a match signed by President Mike Paiva against him, stating that if Triplelicious is able to defeat Batello in their match he will become #1 contender for the NCW Heavyweight Championship.
Match 5: Four Corners Sudden Death Match – Rob Impact vs. Cenobite vs. Avil Graves vs. Angel
This match saw Avil Graves and Angel make their NCW debuts, and Cenobite make his first appearance back in NCW since last year’s Big City Rumble. Prior to the match Graves offered a delicious sandwich to anyone that would lay down and let him win the match, however the sandwich was eaten by Derik Destiny who happened to be passing by the ring area before the offer was made which voided the offer. This match was something reminiscent of the early days of NCW, with 4 competitors putting it all on the line for the win including the use of a kendo stick and a chair after the referee was knocked out. Impact and Angel were the crowd favorites in this one, displaying great technical skill in the opening moments of the match. After Avil Graves and Angel took the fight to the outside, Rob Impact was able to win the match with a Shooting Star Press on Cenobite.
A pre-recorded interview with MTE and Tim Kilgore aired where MTE announced that himself and Kilgore would be taking on Generation Slam for the Tag Team Championship.
Match 6: Osirus vs. Nocturne (with Avil Graves)
The crowd in Groton quickly took to Osirus and was really into this match. Nocturne was accompanied to the ring by Avil Graves, who for the most part seemed to be aimed at giving the referee grief more than anything. Ever the unpleasant individual, Nocturne seemed to have a legitimate grudge against the Groton fans and went out of his way to make them unhappy. This was a strong back-and-forth match, which saw a lot of high impact moves. Osirus was able to get the win in about 10 minutes with “The Final Flash” (Modified Twist of Fate).
Match 7: Ruy Batello vs. Triplelicious *If Triplelicious wins he will become #1 contender for the NCW Heavyweight Title*
Ruy started the match off strong, delighting the crowd (especially one woman in particular who was wearing an "I Love Ruy" shirt), but to the crowd's dismay Triplelicious was able to get control of the match early on. Batello was able to fight back and picked up the win with Ruy-Nation (Double Underhook Front Suplex). This match proved that Batello still has the heart of a champion, and is an important step on his way back to title competition.
Match 8: NCW Tag Team Championship – Generation Slam (Tim Pittman and Jon Thornhill with Amber) vs. Tim Kilgore and MTE
Generation Slam took a quick advantage after an attempted sneak attack by Kilgore and MTE with Pittman tossing MTE out of the ring, Thornhill tossing Kilgore out of the ring, and Amber tossing MTE out of the ring after he climbed back in. After a back and forth battle MTE and Tim Kilgore were able to gain control of the match with Kilgore cheapshotting Thornhill in the throat, at which point Amber got up on the apron to alert the referee to what transpired. MTE and Kilgore dragged Amber in the ring in an attempt to assault her, however she was able to pull off a double team move on Kilgore and MTE, getting Kilgore in a Flying Headscissors and Tornado DDTing MTE. With MTE down and out Pittman was able to pin him yet again with a Senton, which will no doubt be a sour note for MTE.
What I Did On My Winter Vacation
By Bud "The Man" Shurwalter; 4/18/06
If there has been one defining trait for the wrestlers of NCW and NCW itself, it has always been character. In nine years, I've seen alot of action good and bad but the constant has always been character. Hell Ruy Batello got to be the most popular wrestler in the promotion based on character alone. The charisma he and MTE showcased while teaming back in 2000-2002 lead a wave of momentum leading to Batello's Heavyweight Title win in May 2002. Even outside the ring, NCW's finest have some of the most outgoing and entertaining characters around, and during NCW's hiatus these guys (and gals) have had to keep themselves busy and ready for NCW's big return.
The NCW Tag Team Champions Jon Thornhill, Tim Pittman, and the lovely Amber joined together back in October for NO FEAR's Tag Title Invitational, overcoming huge odds to become the Tag Team Champions and forming the group known as Generation SLAM! Since then Gen SLAM have been inseperable, and even though Thornhill has been traveling up and down the southern states with the likes of Tracey Smothers, the trio have done their best to keep themselves in tandem shape with the competitive sport of.. Bowling?
The NCW foundation was rocked when the dastardly brotherly duo of Tim Kilgore & "The Ladies Man" MTE challenged Generation SLAM to a 3 on 2 bowling showdown at a local bowling alley. The reigning Champions accepted the challenge, even giving The Brothers Tootsie a 100 point
handicap. After a brutal game and thanks to some moral support from "The Portugese Sensation" Ruy Batello, Thornhill, Pittman, & Amber destroyed Kilgore & MTE, thanks inpart to a huge beer frame- Three strikes in a row for the Tag Team Champions!

At least they're not blue balls, says Kilgore
The amateur standout of NCW, Plainfield's own Davey Loomis, made his pro wrestling debut at NCW's 2005 Big City Rumble last April. Nearing his one year anniversary as a pro, Davey devoured his amateur competition this season, winning ECC Champion for the second year in a row, also winning 160lbs Champion. Though Davey's passion is his amateur wrestling, Loomis is eager to prove himself in NCW, and is ready to take things to the next level.

And after catching up with the former NCW Heavyweight Champion, I've learned how angry Ruy actually is about being screwed out of the Championship back at Silence the Violence. Unfortunately sitting around won't solve anything, and while Batello waits until his next chance at the Title, he has decided to sit back and enjoy his favorite pastime- Baseball! An avid Red Sox fan, Ruy and his girlfriend got up close and personal with the Red Sox Nation at a recent Fenway game on Easter Sunday!
Enjoying some haagen-daz, Batello coached the Red Sox team on all the tools they'll need to
get back to the top of the mountain. Unfortunately when Manny Ramirez made a crack about Ruy's helmetly like hair, Batello snapped hitting Ramirez with "Ruination".
The Presidential Address
By President Mike Paiva; 1/12/06
The votes have been tallied and no recount is needed. First of all, I would like to thank the fans for their votes and support. It has been almost a year since I stepped into a NCW ring, or any ring for that matter. I have always had a great relationship with the NCW committee, since being Tag Team Champions with Jason Blade and Mercedez as Fuzion back in 2002.
No offense to the other candidates, but as far as I was concerned, I was the only one for the job. As I mentioned in Dedham, the objective of my administration here in Northeast Championship Wrestling is simple, to be “Fair and Balanced.” As hard as it might be to believe it, it is true. My door is always open to all of the NCW staff and talent. I proved this to the Maine State Posse in Dedham. After interrupting my speech, I could have easily not listened to their pleas. But being fair and balanced I decided to add another referee outside the ring for their title match with Generation SLAM. Believe me; I know what it is like to be screwed out of a title match. That being said, I did everything in my power to give the MSP what they wanted, it is not my problem that they could not finish the job. I believe that Alex Chamberlain and Scotty Vegas need to regroup and reconsider what the have to do to become the NCW Tag Team Champions. The tag titles mean as much to me as anyone here in NCW, that is why the belts will be treated as an equal to the Heavyweight title. Stay tuned, I have some great ideas for the tag team division.
Now this might arguably be the hottest story in NCW’s history. The NCW website is calling it a, “Sensational Screwjob!” I call it wrestling. I can’t tell you how many fans in Dedham wanted me to just go in there and reverse the decision. Page twelve in the NCW handbook specifically states, “The referee’s decision is always final.” Read it again, it says FINAL. I am not about to rewrite the book here folks. These referees have a very tough job, and they can’t and never will catch everything in a match that isn’t fair. That being said, I can do all I can to prevent things like this from happening (see the tag match in Dedham, two refs!), but once it happens and the referee makes his decision, it stands. Ruy Batello has held the NCW Heavyweight Title since May 18, 2002, I understand his frustration. But that in no way condones hitting your new President. Ruy, it’s a good thing that kid jumped in my way, because if you connected with that punch, I can assure you that it would be a long time before you saw a rematch for the title you hold so dear to your heart!
That’s it for this edition of the Presidential Address. Fans and wrestlers alike can email me with suggestions and if you want to hate, well you can do that too. Contact me at PresidentPaiva@hotmail.com. Thank you and God Bless NCW.
Silence the Violence Review
By NCW; 1/9/06
Silence the Violence V has come and gone, and NCW may never be the same again. With new NCW President Mike Paiva taking the reigns of the promotion, controversey immeadiately struck leading to "Revolution" Chris Venom winning the Heavyweight Championship from "The Portuguese Sensation" Ruy Batello in one half of the double Main Event.
The night kicked off when Triplelicious took on the popular "Hawkeye" Evan Hunter in singles action. Despite not having longtime manager JC Marxxx in his corner, Trip shined against Hunter who put up a valiant effort himself until falling to the "H-Cubed".

Originally scheduled to be a tag contest between The Italian Body Squad and Davey
Loomis & Rob Impact, Rocco Abruzzi proclaimed that Loomis was too scared to
face off with him and would rather compete in amateur competition (Loomis was obligated to compete in one of his High School Amateur Matches forcing him off the show) than take him head on. Feeling he had nothing
to prove, Abruzzi let IBS partner Bryce Andrews take on Rob Impact one on one instead.
Impact and Andrews both impressed, pulling out all the stops in order to get the victory.
In the end Impact was looking for a high risk move off the top, leading to "The Strangler" intervening causing a DQ. Abruzzi & Andrews then went to work on Impact laying him out with Rocco utilizing his "Stranglehold" submission, sending a strong message to Davey Loomis.
Up next color commentator Maniacal Mark made his way to the ring, introducing The Original Kings Of Old School- Derik Destiny, "The Pinnacle" Paul Lombardi, and "Textbook" Dean Tatum. Destiny & Lombardi then competed in tag team action, taking on the high flying Afterburn. Even though Afterburn put up a great effort, TOKOOS dominated over the young duo picking up a victory after Lombardi slammed Destiny onto Ray Diamond.
Kelly Valentine picked up an impressive victory in Dedham, defeating the debuting Mark Moment in a very entertaining Match.
The 2005 Presidential Election winner was revealed, as former NCW Tag Team Champion "The
Full Effect" Mike Paiva made his way out to the ring. Paiva promised to be a fair and
impartial President, though the crowd already seemed to form their own opinions of the
former Fuzion member. Before he could continue however The Maine State Posse interjected,
still fuming over their loss to Generation SLAM at NO FEAR. Wanting a fair chance to get
the belts, Paiva agreed to bring in a 2nd official outside the ring in an effort to
guarantee a clean Match between Generation SLAM and The Posse.
In a Triple Threat Match, The Wisconsin Badger emerged victorious in a shocking upset against Tim Kilgore and Cameron Matthews, who where both thrown off by the antics of the creature from Wisconsin. Even though both men had seconds in their corner (Kilgore had his brother MTE, while Matthews had "Hot Stuff" Paul Hudson) The Badger's mindgames proved to be too much, knocking Kilgore out with a loaded soda bottle leading to "The Badger Splash" for the win. After the Match The Badger brought some fans into the ring to dance with him and official Zac The Ref.
NCW New England Champion Doug Summers made his first Title defense against the former Champion "Hot Stuff" Paul Hudson in what was labeled their "Final Encounter". In another spectacular Match both men took it to the limit, and despite having Cameron Matthews in his corner Summers was able to pull off a victory with his "Beautiful Disaster" to get the win.
In his NCW debut, "The Rocket" Fred Curry picked up an impressive victory over "The Immortal"
Zack Static.
In the first half of the double Main Event, the 2005 Big City Rumble winner Chris Venom challenged the reigning NCW Heavyweight Champion Ruy Batello. President Paiva decided to return to ringside for the double ME, in order to keep an eye on the action. Venom did everything in his power to keep "The Portuguese Sensation" down, but Batello kept coming back despite his best efforts. Ruy believed he had things finished when he nailed "Ruination" on Venom, only to see The Original Kings Of Old School return to the scene to break things up. Paul Lombardi then tossed Venom a pair of brass knuckles, which Venom utilized to knock the wind out of Batello. As Lombardi pocketed the knucks in clear view of President Paiva, Venom used the ropes as leverage to get a cheap pin over Batello winning his second NCW Championship. A furious Batello went right to the President, who claimed to not see anything. When the crowd urged Batello to knock out Paiva, "The Full Effect" pulled the young timekeeper right in harms way, forcing Ruy to back off. Officials then told Ruy to backoff, trying to restore order to the chaotic scene.
Once things got settled, the NCW Tag Team Title Match was set to go down with Generation SLAM defending against Scotty Vegas & Alex Chamberlin. Before the Match began, Amber took the microphone promising that Gen SLAM would kick The Maine State Posse's ass just like The Pats kicked the Jaguars ass. With the second referee on the outside, The Posse held a strong advantage over Pittman & Thornhill, trying to isolate the underdog duo. In the end after the 2nd referee was knocked out inadvertantley Thornhill & Pittman finished Chamberlin off, with a combo high cross body/senton bomb to retain the NCW Tag Team Championship.
